Q: Why am I receiving this bill?

A: This balance is for the kidneyintelX.dkd or KidneyIntelX™ lab test that your physician ordered through Renalytix. It reflects all payments and adjustments currently applied to your account after billing any applicable insurance plans. You may access our secure patient portal to make your payment online. We have several payment plans, including a no-interest plan. Should you have questions about this bill, please call the Billing Services team at 844.508.9409 or reach them at

Q: What is the difference between this insurance statement and a bill?

A: The statement you received from your insurance, often called an EOB or Explanation
of Benefits, usually states that “This is Not A Bill.” When a kidneyinteX.dkd or KidneyIntelX claim is reviewed by your insurance, it will send an EOB or letter to advise you of the insurance company’s decision. While the EOB may include a “You May Owe” amount, this may not accurately reflect other insurance plans, programs or the specific billing policies of Renalytix. The Renalytix bill will reflect the actual amount that you are responsible for as it relates to any kidneyinteX.dkd or KidneyIntelX test.

Q: When should I expect a bill?

A: Generally, insurance plans will process the claim within 30-45 days. Renalytix will bill you once this process is complete. Your bill may be delayed if (1) we are billing multiple insurance carriers or (2) we need to appeal a claim that has been denied by the insurance carrier, which we pursue on your behalf.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: We accept Visa, Discover, and Mastercard through our web portal. You may also mail a check to the address on your statement. Or, you can use an electronic check by calling Billing Services at 844.508.9409.

Q: Do you offer financial assistance with my balance?

A: Yes. Renalytix strives to make our kidneyinteX.dkd and KidneyIntelX tests available and affordable for anyone who needs it. We offer interest-free payment plans for up to six months. We also have a Financial Assistance program which may reduce your out-of-pocket expense (for those who qualify). An application and supporting documentation is required.
